Piezoelectrics Ceramics Properties & Applications Manual

Piezo Electric Products

Piezoelectric Materials
Several types of piezoelectric ceramic materials are available. Each type is tailored towards the requirements of particular applications. This is achieved by changing the chemical composition of the ceramic to enhance specific properties. The ceramic materials are arranged in three groups: Hard Materials, Soft Materials and Custom Materials.

Sensors & Transducers
Morgan Electro Ceramics is a world leader in the field of electroceramics and manufactures a wide range of specialised piezoelectric transducers and sensors for mechanical, electrical and electronic applications. With design centres and manufacturing locations in Europe and the USA, Morgan specialises in designing and manufacturing complete solutions for OEM applications. Many of our customers find that Morgan’s complete Sensor and Transducer divisions offer a Total Solution to their needs. Main markets served included medical, aerospace, industrial and defence.

Actuators
By combining its piezoelectric materials expertise and multi-layer capacitor production techniques, Morgan Electro Ceramics can now offer a range of multi-layer actuators to meet the growing demand for precise, controllable and repeatable displacement devices in the micrometre and submicrometre range.

Piezo Bimorphs
Today you will find Morgan Electro Ceramics piezo bimorphs in a host of specialist application areas, including ultrasonic atomizers, transducers, printing technologies, pneumatic valves, textile machinery and many more. All are the result of close co-design and co-development relationships with our customers.

The bimorphs are available in a range of sizes from 6 to 74mm in length and 1 to 43mm in width, to reflect the variety of applications in which they can be used.

Gas Ignitors
Piezoelectric gas igniters for all applications where batteries or mains electricity is not available, based on the impact of a spring-driven hammer on our piezoelectric ceramic (PZT) giving a high voltage spark. Push-button, rotary and squeeze actions available.
